Beyond elevating the space inside, it acts as an essential protective layer—shielding your tent's groundsheet from muddy boots, kids, high heels, and hard camp wear.

How The Terra System Works We supply the Terra Mat in modular half-moon segments so you can tailor your floor layout:

• Full Coverage: Order a Full size to receive two matching half-moons that cover your entire floor space wall-to-wall.

• Half Coverage: Order a Half size to receive a single half-moon—leaving half your groundsheet exposed for muddy boots, wet gear, or a porch entry.

(Example: For a 5m bell tent, ordering a 5m Full gets you two 5m half-moons. A 5m Half gets you one.)

Why We Don’t Sell Coir or Jute We get asked about natural coir and jute matting regularly, but the reality on the trail isn't practical:

• Heavy & Rigid: Coir rolls up like a giant, stubborn doormat—taking up massive boot space and dragging down your pack weight.

• Moisture Traps: Natural fibers soak up ground dampness, spills, and dirt—holding onto moisture and creating musty odors inside your canvas sanctuary.

• A Pain to Clean: Embedded dirt stays trapped in deep natural fibers, usually requiring professional cleaning equipment to flush out.

A Quick Note on Heat: While the Terra Mat handles tough wear with ease, it shouldn't sit directly beneath a burning tent stove. Always use an appropriate heat shield or fireproof stove mat under your wood-stove setup.
